In August of 1999 Mr. Shaftel was recruited by pioneering e-tailer, Ashford.com to create, manage and buy for their Diamond Division. They were soon to become the first publicly traded online diamond and jewelry e-tailer. During his tenure there, the company earned a solid reputation in the international diamond community. Shaftel Diamond continues to supply the diamond and jewelry trade, but has added a full line of jewelry services to better accommodate the individual consumer as well.
